Gosh it's hot! We have been working and trying to beat the heat anyway possible. Get's so hot so fast that when fishing, you need to get there before daybreak and fish fast because the heat gets unbearable. We are having heat advisories in Louisiana everyday. Drink plenty of fluids and put on plenty of sunscreen.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We worked a few hours at Bass Pro then went and ate at Chili's. If you are are fishing and out in the heat, please remember to drink lots of water. Tommy and I usually fish either in the morning or evening and try to stay inside due to the heat..

I fished Sam Rayburn for the first time last weekend and it wasn't a good as I would have liked it to be. Full moon and almost 100 degrees during the day makes a bad fishing day.:/ If you like fishing grass, Sam Rayburn is for you!! Top water is about all you can fish there unless you rip it through the grass. Went with some friends though, so we did have a great time laughing and cutting up. Next trip is Caney Lake! Tommy or me has ever fished Caney Lake and I am looking forward to it.

We had the Bass Pro Shops Kids Fishing Rodeo today and it was a blast!! I have posted pictures on the photo tab. If you have any better or other picture that was taken today, please send it to me at tdbass@cox.net. I used my iphone and the pictures were not as good as I wanted.
Thanks to all that attended today. Every child got a nice gift from Bass Pro. Thank you to Dempsy and MIke and the Jr. BASSMASTERS out of Lafayette for volunteering, helping, and fishing today. What an outstanding group!! So many of them touched our hearts.

Wow! It has been a while since I updated. We just returned from Holly Grove, Arkanasas yesterday for a Memorial Day weekend get-a-way. We met Billy Bob, from Florida there and visited Mr. Charlie Lewis and his Family which was a BLAST!! He fished the very first B. A. S. S. tournament with Bill Dance and Billy Bob. We fished the White River but it was high and out of the banks and so muddy. That's ok though! We had awesome fellowship and some good eating. Everyone is so nice in Arkansas.

Well, it looks like rain is in the forecast for this whole weekend through next week. Tommy will be fishing his Team Bass tournament at Lake Concordia on Sunday. Saturday, we will be at Dreams Day in Clinton for another year. Every year we look forward to this. We bring our boat and put it in one of the 5 ponds and let kids fish with us all day. This year they expect over 160 cancer patients from all over the state of Louisiana to be there so that will be so exciting to see those little faces smiling at you. Hope you are all doing well! Thanks for reading!

WOW!! I just wanted to share something awesome with our friends and family
that happened today. Tommy and I have always fished St. Jude and supported
them for years and this year, Tommy fished with a dear friend and St. Jude
patient, James Duvall. We have always said that this was all about the kids
and that if we ever won anything, it would go back to benefit St. Jude
Children or give it to James this year since he is a patient. Well, Tommy
and James fished today and caught a lot of fish but nothing to take to the
scale. They had one last chance to win something in a drawing for a
$17,000.00 boat, without the motor and guess what??? That's right! Out of 167 boats they drew their boat number. The pictures will tell it all. When they went on
stage after they announced their name, Tommy told everyone that the boat was
all James'!! He said that James has been through so much as a cancer
patient that he deserved it. How awesome is it to see an 18 yr. old St.
Jude patient, who has been through heck and back for 3 yrs, 2 hip
replacements at 17, to now have his own boat. Thank you Lord for allowing
us to give back directly to a St. Jude child!!

Hope you have been getting some fishing in with this beautiful weather we've been having. We went Friday to Lake Rosemound and the cool front kind of messed of the fishing but it was such a great day just to get out.
Tommy and I went to Chag's in New Orleans yesterday and worked all day in a big sale they are having this weekend. They are great people there at Chag's and they have awesome deals on Culprit, Cast-A-Way rods, and many more of our sponsors products.
I just posted some new pics from the Dreams Come True 2010 Bass Classic of some Dream Children so take a look.

Don't know about you but, WOW!! This weather is giving us the fishing fever BAD!! Tommy and I went to Lake Rosemound in St Francisville yesterday (Friday) and caught about 12 bass, but nothing big. All of them that were caught were small buck bass. The water temp was still cool at 64 degress and the water was up a little. The females should be moving up on the bank soon. During the spawings months, it's very important to catch and release the females especially. We really need to do this for the future fisherman, fisherladies and the young people that are coming up. You can always take a picture of your big fish, release it, then get a replaca made of it. I hope that everyone is going well. Stay safe and God Bless!!

Can you tell we have been busy? Sorry for no updates in a while. Tommy has been putting so many hours in at work during the week and on weekends. He said you got to work while you can. I just worry about him working so much. Me, I have been trying to get the ol' taxes done. Once all this settles down, I have many pictures to post and updates to post, especially about our friend Nick Zewe. He caught a big largemouth bass and I was able to go see it and take some pics before he donated it to Bass Pro in Denham Spring. Way to go NICK!!
